A celebration of art in a beautiful setting
St Mary the Virgin Parish Church in Mold is proud to host its nineth annual Virgin Art Exhibition and Sale. Visitors to the art exhibition have in previous years enjoyed the work of more than 80 contributors from across the region. The six-day annual event is held on the first week in May, displaying exhibits of artists and photographers from all corners of Wales as well as the North West and West Midlands. Organised by a small committee of church members, the exhibition is now part of the town’s festival programme and one of the largest cultural events in Wales. Visitors have the opportunity to view more than 300 exhibits free of charge between 10am and 8pm until Saturday. The works of art are displayed in the side aisles and Lady Chapel, with visitors invited to vote for their favourite exhibit. Most of the exhibits are on sale with a percentage of the price going to church funds.
The 2016 Virgin Art Exhibition and Sale was formally opened on Saturday evening by the Mayor of Mold and the Chairman of Flintshire County Council.
